1CE Event

The risk of substance abuse in healthcare and its impact cannot be understated. It is imperative as leaders we understand the unique risks, vulnerabilities, impacts and responses to substance abuse in a healthcare setting and resources available.

Objectives

  1. Describe why health care professionals are vulnerable to Substance Use Disorder.
  2. Identify ways that drug diversion can impact the diverter, other people, & the community.
  3. Identify common stressors and response to stress that lead to stress injury.
  4. Describe the key elements of resilience and how that can lead to reduced stress and stress injury.
  5. Identify resources available through WA State Department of Health that are available for professionals struggling with substance use disorder.
  6. Describe the Regulatory reporting requirements under the Uniform Disciplinary Act and the primary components of a regulatory monitoring program.
