Summary:
The profession of nursing is struggling to find its footing in today's healthcare dynamics. Extreme working conditions due to the COVID pandemic, staffing shortages and Societal unrest have left the profession reeling and struggling to find an aligned path forward. The Nursing code of ethics exists for times such as these and in this presentation, we will discuss the role the code can play in finding a path and our voice, together as a profession.
Session Objectives:
- Obtain a deeper understanding of the ANA Code of Ethics
- Learn to apply the Code of Ethics to the circumstances our profession faces today

Presenter:
Jennifer Gentry, MSN, RN, NEA-BC is CNO for Providence Central Division and NWONL Leadership Commission Chair and a keynote speaker on this topic at the national level.
Continuing Education:
Approved NWONL monthly CE/Learning sessions and their certificates are included as part of NWONL membership. ACNL members may also obtain CE certificates as part of the NWONL/ACNL Collaborative agreement.

Speakers

Division Chief Nursing Officer for TX, NM, OR, Eastern WA and MT at Providence.
Jennifer Gentry brings nearly 20 years of nursing experience to her role of Central Division chief nursing officer for Providence St. Joseph Health-Oregon. Previously, she was the chief clinical and nursing officer for Providence St. Joseph Health-Oregon. Prior to that, she was the chief nursing executive at Providence Portland Medical Center. Jennifer is a keynote speaker and passionate advocate for driving cultural change in healthcare back to its foundation of human service and connection.
