NWONL 2025 Board Nominations

2025 Board Nominations are open

A core ability of leadership is earned through Board and Commission service, both inside and outside a leaders organization. NWONL provides these opportunities to its members for leaders seeking advancement at regional level.

Applicants should read the "Position Requirements, Consent to Serve and Conflict of Interest Disclosure" document for each appointment they are seeking nomination.

• Nominee is a current member of NWONL plus AONL, if position requires, with ability to make the time commitment associated with the role. 
• Actively holds a senior level position in a health care delivery organization with the demonstrated ability to engage and influence nursing outside of their own organizations, ideally at a regional or national level.
• By submitting an application the nominee confirms all information provided is both true and accurate and approves of documentation to be shared for review by the NWONL Nominations Committee and key information shared with NWONL Members during election if their application is approved.   

2025 Board Positions: 

• President Elect: 3 yr. total commitment. NWONL & AONL membership required.
• Secretary-Treasurer Elect: 2 yr. total commitment. NWONL & AONL membership required.
• Development Commission Co-Chair: 2 yr. total commitment. NWONL membership required.
• Leadership Commission Co-Chair: 2 yr. total commitment. NWONL membership required.
• All terms begin January 1, 2025.

Applications are due no later than August 31, 2024. Provide the following documentation in electronic form, using either:

Information Required

• Name and credentials of nominee, current position/title, and organization and RN license.
• Years of NWONL membership & current/past roles (member, board, commission, etc.)
• Years of AONL membership & current/past roles (member, board, commission, etc.)
• Any other relevant board, committee, commission positions (current or past).
• List of publications/presentations delivered as a Nursing professional (title, date, audience).
• A brief 1 paragraph personal bio, to be used in elections if nomination is approved.
• A 150 word statement answering: What do you feel is the most significant challenge in healthcare, and ultimately for NWONL members, moving ahead to the next year and how you might address this? To be used in elections if nomination is approved.

All information is considered private and not shared outside of the NWONL Executive Director, NWONL Secretary-Treasurer and NWONL Operations administrator, and other NWONL Board members as needed, to collate, assess, select, confirm and approve the application for elections.

2024 Timeline:

• Nomination submission window: August 1 - August 31
• Review & Advancement: September 1 - September 2
• Board Elections: September 3 - September 25
• Confirmation & Advancement: September 26 - October 1
• Announcement: October 1
• Roles begin: January 1, 2025
