Additional Information

The Seattle & NW Washington Council is hosting a CE/Learning Event: "Cultivating Joy in Nursing"

This presentation aims to address key challenges in the nursing profession and explore strategies to enhance the nursing experience. It covers several important topics, including how personal motivation and passion for nursing is central to understanding how to improve the hardships depicted often in social media, on bullying, turnover, burnout, and workplace violence in clinical care environments. Renee will share her personal journey and how exploring a new paradigm using social media to emphasize the importance of human connection, belonging, trust, and compassion can help build a healthier movement of recognizing the value of nursing. The session concludes with a discussion segment to engage participants and share insights, and pondering the notion that individual purpose and care requires drive to cultivate an environment of joy and care for others in their clinical practices.

Objectives:
  1. Identify three key challenges facing the nursing profession today, including bullying, turnover, burnout, and workplace violence.
  2. Recognize two strategies and approaches to rebuild the voice of nursing and cultivate joy in the profession, focusing on human connection, belonging, trust, and compassion in clinical care environments.
  3. Identify the three theoretical frameworks that are explored to shift the paradigm in social media on nursing culture to one of care and compassion.
  4. Reflect on how ones own personal experiences, insights, and values support the approach on how “it starts with me and is not about me,” connects individual purpose and care with drive to cultivate an environment of joy and care for others.
