Join us on February 12th for the Regional Council led session:
Nursing Leadership Session-Strengthening our Collective Voice & Professional Responsibility
In light of the recent and deeply troubling acts of violence against members of our nursing community, including the attacks involving Renee Good and Nurse Alex Pretti, we are convening a NWONL Seattle Chapter quarterly session to create a shared space for reflection, collaboration, and collective action. Nurses and frontline caregivers continue to shoulder the emotional, physical, and psychological burden of an increasingly volatile environment. These events are not isolated; they underscore a growing crisis that demands leadership, unity, and a strengthened, coordinated voice.
During this session, we will focus on three core areas:
-
Strengthening Our Collective Voice
How can nursing leaders mobilize together, across systems and settings, to advocate for meaningful change, elevate the urgency of safety, and influence policy and community conversations? -
Supporting Our Caregivers
What immediate and long‑term strategies can we advance to better protect, support, and heal our teams—emotionally, physically, and psychologically, after incidents of violence or trauma? -
Our Responsibility as Leaders Professionally and Personally
What does it mean to show up as advocates and activists in this moment? How do we honor our role as stewards of a profession rooted in protection, compassion, and justice, both within our institutions and in our broader communities?
This gathering is an opportunity to listen to one another, to stand in solidarity with the victims who were harmed, and to commit together to action that fosters safety, resilience, and empowerment for every nurse in our region.
