Day 1 afternoon session: Confirming the Case for Meaningful Connections in Healthcare

Session goals:

  • This session details a system-level, evidence-based, practical, and actionable strategy to address the rampant burnout, disengagement, and the subsequent impacts on patient quality and outcomes for our modern, post-pandemic healthcare teams. The session is provided via case study of how two University of Washington Medical Center nurse experts collaborated with senior nursing leaders and the Patient Experience team to launch a multi-campus, system-wide Meaningful Connection workshop initiative to address the impact of the incredible challenges that our healthcare teams have faced over the past several years.

Presenters:

  • Marie Cockerham, MN, RN, eCPR-C, Director, CARE4U Well-being & Support Program, Associate Director, Patient Care Services - University of Washington.
  • Cheri Constantino-Shor, MSN, RN, PMH-BC, CRNI, CMSRN, Director of Professional Engagement and Nursing Excellence and Patient Care Services - University of Washington.
